The Happenings at the Shop

Another Contest and a good deed at the same time.

In case you haven't noticed it is getting cooler – a lot cooler! And my first reaction is to start a pair of mittens for one of my grand-kids. But the sad thought is that there are kids in our own communities who go to school with cold hands. So running from now until December 15^th we are going to see how many pairs of mittens we can collect. These mittens can be hand-knit or store bought but they have to be new.

AND because who doesn't like a contest – everyone who brings in a pair of mitts will get one entry per pair to be in a draw for the book of your choice. If the mittens are hand-knit you will get two chances in the draw. AND we are going to keep track of who brings in the mitts and there will be a special prize for the person who brings in the most mitts. So get out those needles and lets keep our kids warm.  The contest closes Dec 6.
We have over 9 dozen pairs donated so far - Way to go Knitters!
There is a definite need for older children and adult sized mittens
