The Happenings at the Shop

Another Contest and a good deed at the same time.
In case you haven't noticed it is getting cooler – a lot cooler! And my first reaction is to start a pair of mittens for one of my grand-kids. But the sad thought is that there are kids in our own communities who go to school with cold hands. So running from now until December 15th we are going to see how many pairs of mittens we can collect. These mittens can be hand-knit or store bought but they have to be new.
AND
because who doesn't like a contest – everyone who brings in a pair
of mitts will get one entry per pair to be in a draw for the book of
your choice. If the mittens are hand-knit you will get two chances
in the draw. AND we are going to keep track of who brings in the
mitts and there will be a special prize for the person who brings in
the most mitts. So get out those needles and lets keep our kids
warm. The contest closes Dec 6.
We have over 9 dozen pairs donated so
far - Way to go Knitters!
There is a definite need for older children and adult sized
mittens
